General

Question: What are the opening hours and address?
Answer: Friday 18.00-04.00, Saturday: 18.00-06.00. Music will play all the hours. Address is Refshalevej 198, 1432 Copenhagen. 

Question: Do you have a festival app?
Answer: Yes, you can download our app from the App Store and Google Play. Find the links here.

Question: Where can I find the timetable?
Answer: You can find the timetable on our website and in our app.

Question: How do I get to the festival?
Answer: We recommend taking a bike. We have made a special bike and walking path at Refshalevej.

You can also use public transportation: Bus 2A at the stop “Refshaleøen” and the harbour bus at the stop “Refshaleøen”. Arrive early, and remember that parking at the site is not possible. 

Question: What type of music will there be?
Answer: All days will consist of house, disco, techno and trance. You can find more information about the different artists on our website

Question: Can I volunteer at the festival?
Answer: Yes, and you can even get a free ticket for it. We have available shifts before and during the festival! Please go to the Volunteer page to sign up.

Question: Can I pick up my wristband before the festival?
Answer: This year’s festival is wristband-free: your digital ticket will be scanned each day upon arrival. No wristband will be applied at the entrance.

Question: What is the re-entry policy?
Answer: If you plan to leave the festival area at any time during the event, you’ll need to pick up a re-entry wristband. At Distortion Ø, the re-entry wristbands are free and must be picked up at the Info & Merch Booth before leaving.

Question: Can I join the festival when I have mobility impairment and use a wheelchair?
Answer: Yes, but you need to bring a companion and be prepared for a rough ride. Most of the surface is grass or wood chips and it can be muddy. Unfortunately there will not be raised viewing spots for mobility impairment.

The companion ticket is free, but a ticket fee of 20 DKK per ticket applies. If you have a partout or weekend pass and wish to bring different companions on different days, you must instead order companion tickets per day.

Companion tickets can only be redeemed together with the original ticket upon presentation of a companion card. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Ticketmaster Customer Service at +45 38481633.

Question: Is the festival environmentally sustainable?
Answer: We’re committed to making the festival more sustainable. We take real steps to reduce our impact: all waste is sorted, drinks are served in reusable cups, most beverages are organic, and we avoid single-use items like straws and confetti. 

Question: How can I help the festival to be as sustainable as possible?
Answer:

  • Sorting your trash at the trash stations.
  • Not bringing confetti and glitter.
  • Bring your own water bottle or buy one at our bars and take advantage of our free drinking water station.
  • Don’t throw your cigarette buds on the ground, please use a trash can or a pocket ashtray.
  • Don’t print your ticket or timetable, but download it to your phone.
  • Take a bike or public transport to the festival.

Question: Where can I find a map of the festival?
Answer: You can find a map of the festival on our website.

Question: What is the re-entry policy?
Answer: If you plan to leave the festival area at any time during the event, you’ll need to pick up a re-entry wristband. At Distortion Ø, the re-entry wristbands are free and must be picked up at the Info & Merch Booth before leaving.

Question: What is your drug policy?
Answer: It’s not allowed to do drugs at Distortion. Any form of possession and sale of drugs will result in immediate expulsion and reporting to the authorities.

If you or someone feels bad, go to the First Aid and Awareness Team tent. They are experienced and will provide advice about drugs, alcohol, legal highs for anything that is troubling you, in full confidentiality.

Question: Can I bring my bag to the festival?
Answer: Yes, you can have a normal sized backpack. Large capacity backpacks are not allowed. 

Question: Will there be a deposit system on the cups?
Answer: 5 kr. cup fee is applied to each drink purchased on site. So you can bring your used cup to the bar and exchange it for a new one when you get a drink. Exchanges are ONLY 1:1 – which means if you buy one drink, you can bring one used cup and get the fee deducted, and if you want to buy two drinks you can bring two used cups, etc…

Question: Will there be camping at the festival?
Answer: Sorry, no camping.

Question: How do I pay on site?
Answer: We do not accept cash and MobilePay. We do accept: all major credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

Question: Will there be lockers on site?
Answer: Yes, but there is no room for big travel backpacks and suitcases. Dimensions: 20cm x 22cm x 37cm. Fee: 90 DKK. The lockers have USB ports (2x USB A, 1x USB C – cables not included). You can pre-order a locker through this link.

Question: Can I bring my pet to the festival?
Answer: Unfortunately it’s not possible to bring your pet to the festival.

Question: Can I bring my own food and drinks to the festival?
Answer: No, that is not possible. You are allowed to bring an empty water bottle to fill up at the water station.

Question: Will there be a water refill station at the festival?
Answer: Yes. Remember to bring an empty water bottle.

Question: Can I buy merch?
Answer: Yes! You can buy merchandise at the festival site and on our website.

Question: Can I take photos and videos?
Answer: Yes, but only if you’re using a phone or fixed lens compact camera without enabling flash mode. In other words, no professional cameras. We encourage everyone to stay in the moment and keep the use of phones and cameras to a minimum without disturbing other guests. If you have photos that Distortion can use and share, please tag us. We will be very happy.
