BECOME A STREET HOST AT DISTORTION 2026

Do you want to help create unforgettable street parties in Copenhagen? You can now apply to become a street host for Distortion 2026.

As a street host, you contribute your idea to the street parties - this can be music, dance, street theatre, art, or other exciting activities. The most important thing is that you are passionate about creating a unique experience and celebrating the city.

Contribute with three different street host activities

Classic Street Host

Focus on festive music in all genres. We are looking for variation to create a diverse experience.

ActionHygge Street Host

Non-party musical activities with a focus on community, art, food, dance, or debate.

Pop-Up Street Host

Short-term or mobile activities, e.g. samba orchestras, theatre, or dance circles.

Common to all activities is that we prioritize local anchoring and original ideas that fit within the framework of the party.

HOW TO APPLY

Carefully review all tabs below. The application deadline is 4 February 2026.

Vesterbro Street Party

The legendary free street party on the streets of Vesterbro. There is room for smaller activities within the three categories, and due to the dense residential area, special guidelines apply for sound and placement. The party takes place simultaneously with Distortion X (16-23).

  • When: Thursday, 4 June, 16:00-22:00

Distortion is responsible for the areas where the street parties take place and takes care of all practical matters. To participate as a street host, you must meet certain requirements and pay a participation fee. However, we make it easy for you, and our experienced team will help you all the way from planning to execution.

Areas and placement

You can apply for space in Vesterbro. A map of the permitted zones can be found here: Vesterbro map

Distortion reserves the right to move or adjust placements to ensure the best experience for everyone.

Option to operate a bar

You can add a bar to your activity, making it possible to cover potential expenses. Distortion supplies beverages and bar equipment, but the bar is operated by yourself. Special rules apply for operating a bar. Read more here.

Participation fee

  • Base fee: DKK 3,000
  • KODA fee (Only if you play music): From DKK 1,500
  • Own bar: DKK 3,000 + 10% of goods purchase
  • Deposit: DKK 2,500 (refunded upon fulfillment of contract)

All prices are excluding VAT. The fee is paid before the event.

The participation fee covers the following

  • Visibility via Distortion's platforms, festival app, maps, and program.
  • Distortion handles coordination with all involved public authorities and assists with relevant permits.
  • Distortion handles toilet facilities, overall cleaning, security, and traffic coordination.
  • Distortion assists throughout the process of planning your street party.

The Harbour Parties

Around Copenhagen's harbour by Refshaleøen. There will be larger setups here, and the atmosphere is different from Vesterbro. The harbour parties overlap with Distortion Ø at Refshaleøen (18-04).

  • When: Friday, 5 June, 16:00-22:00

The harbour parties have a different format than the street parties and take place farther away from residential areas, and close to the harbourside and water. Therefore, there is room for larger events than on the street, but conversely also room for fewer activities, as space is limited.

It costs nothing to have an activity at the harbour party, but it is important that the concept stands out in both size and design if it is to be allocated space. We welcome larger partnerships as a possibility here, and activities that may involve the harbour quay or the water.

If you are interested in hearing more about the Harbour Party and whether your concept could fit here, please send an email to [email protected]
